| 26-Oct-2005 | Introduction | My name is Elizabeth Brown,I am 43 years old and joined the police force quite late at 38. I have been in the job for my sins for 5 years. I worked as a street cop for 3 years until I began a community post at Sauchie.
This involved working with the community wardens and of course in partnership with the the local Council. During this time I organised several operations with regards to Antisocial Behaviour within Clackmannanshire. Last year myself and the rest of the warden team won a award with regards to an operation that we set up to deal with Off road bikes, mini mopeds and quads which I see is now a problem in Tullibody and
which I intend to deal with.
I have realised that the area is extensive and still growing and there are many areas that have problems with Antisocial behaviour especially with regards to the youths drinking etc. I myself make it a point to work two extra shifts per month on Tullibody Regeneration, which enables me to do 6 hours of foot patrol. This gives me the opportunity to meet and talk to the residents within the problem areas and to find out exactly what they want done.
I intend to tackle the problem with underage drinkers with extensive mobile and cycle patrols in the hotspot areas. My main concern is not so much the youths but the people who buy the drink for the youths, these are the people that need stopped and dealt with.
I am also an Early Touches Football coach and at present the organiser of a football event which takes place at Stirling University once a month. The youths of Sauchie and Alloa meet and a football game takes place with the police and wardens joining in. I hope the funding will run into next year, thus enabling me to give the same opportunity to the youths in Tullibody and Alva. This will hopefully take some of the problems off the street.
I am fully aware of the amount of organisations within the area and hopefully I will be able to attend the majority of the events and meetings that will take place. Crime of course always comes first and if I am needed in this area I will obviously do my best to prevent it, tackle it and deal with it.
During my time as community officer I hope I will fit in and get to know my community.
If you wish to contact me on any mater crime or otherwise your information will be treated with strict confidentially e-mail eb10135@centralscotland.police.uk telephone 01259 723255
