COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING 25\06\02

PRESENT Robert Robinson – Anne Irvine – Margaret Mawson – Margaret McNeill – Lynn Gow –
Linda McLean.

IN ATTENDANCE PC Andrew Ferguson.

APOLOGIES Claire Robinson.

PREVIOUS MINUTES Proposed by Margaret Mawson, seconded by Lynne Gow.

MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising.

POLICE REPORT PC Ferguson gave his monthly report to the meeting, which included the types of
crime being committed, detected crimes and undetected crimes, points on the
afore mentioned were discussed.

SECRETARYS REPORT A list of correspondence was circulated, one of which was an
independent structural report on the Haer Stane which forms the
base on which the war memorial stands, it stated although there were
several cracks and fissures in the stane, there was no immediate danger
to the public, and gave recommendations for repairs to the stane.

Another letter was received from the Tullibody history group stating
that due to the lack of advertising in the local papers, the public
meeting that the community council had arranged should be cancelled,
the secretary stated she had e-mailed the local papers with the details of
the public meeting, however due to making an error in the e-mail
address they did not receive the information, furthermore it had been
advertised in the local shops and on central FM, the secretary stated
that the meeting should go ahead, the chairperson disagreed and stated
the meeting would be cancelled and rescheduled for another date.

TREASURERS REPORT The treasurer gave her monthly report on the finances.

A.O.C.B. The chairperson set up the lap top computer and gave a presentation which he proposed to
use at the public meeting, the presentation consisted of photographs he had taken of the
lych gate park and the Haer Stane. These photographs were taken on 15\06\02 and show
the apauling state of the park where the paths and surrounding areas were flooded with
water, also the dangerous state of the Haer Stane which has a multitude of cracks and
fissures, the presentation has more photographs to be added yet, those being the proposed
new site for the war memorial at the new part of the cemetery.

The secretary called for a vote to be taken on not cancelling the public meeting but to hold it
on the proposed date, the chairperson pointed out that there were two points against
holding the meeting on that date, one we had already received a letter stating that the
Meeting had not been publicised enough, secondly the chairperson made inquiries
reguarding the health and safety and fire regulations relating to the reading room in
the civic centre, the regulations only allow 25 people to gather there and this being the
case is not big enough for a public meeting; the chairperson stated that if it was decided to
hold the meeting and more than 25 people turned up the community council would be made
to look like fools, and furthermore he would have no part in it, the secretary disagreed and
left the meeting, although further discussions took place no minutes were recorded of them.

The chairperson thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting.
