PC HOLDENS REPORT
PC HOLDEN gave his report on the crime statistics in the Tullibody area; he also stated that the children who vandalised the cemetery had been caught.
The chairperson then welcomed superintendent Stewart marshal (central Scotland police)
The superintendent gave the community council a good insight to what he wishes to achieve in the Tullibody area, he is working with Clackmannanshire council on anti-social behaviour. The chairperson asked the superintendent if it was possible for the police to have a page on the community council’s community web site, as this would be a good facility to inform the people in our community of the type of crimes being committed, crime statistics for our area could also be posted on the page, it would also be another avenue for people to contact the police with information. The superintendent said that pc Holden would arrange a meeting with the police web master and R. Robinson to discuss the format for the web page.
The community councillors were impressed with what the superintendent hopes to achieve in our area, and thanked him for taking the time to attend our meeting, as the superintendent and pc Holden had other matters to attend to they excused themselves and left the meeting.
The chairperson then welcomed Marjorie Sutherland, co-ordinator for the Tullibody healthy living initiative, Marjorie gave an in depth explanation on her position as co-ordinator with the healthy living initiative and what projects they had in the pipeline to get it started. She also stated that they were hoping to rent an empty shop in muirside road to turn into their office, Marjorie then answered all the questions put to her reguarding the project. The community councillors agreed that the project would be a great thing for the people of Tullibody; the chairperson then thanked Marjorie for coming to our meeting and for the updated report on the healthy living initiative.
The chairperson then welcomed Clackmannanshire councillor Matchett.
Mr. Matchett stated that he supports community councils in the best possible way, he then carried on to give a view of what he was doing for his ward and Tullibody. On the issue for CCTV cameras for Tron court he stated that he did not support static cameras and in his opinion mobile cameras were better as they could be moved to cover hot spots as they developed, however he does hope that Tron court gets covered with cameras. The chairperson thanked councillor Matched for his contribution to the meeting.
PREVIOUS MINUTES
Copies of the previous were distributed and read, they were proposed by, Alex Scobbie and seconded by Margaret McNeil.
MATTERS ARISING
(A) The chairperson said that he had now received all the entries for the competition to design a new plinth at the war memorial, entries were received from the four primary schools in Tullibody; however no entries had been received from Lornshill Academy. The meeting decided to ask Allan Gall from Clackmannanshire council’s land services to judge the competition; Linda McLean will contact him reguarding this matter.
(B) A letter was received from Clackmannanshire councillor Brian Fearon re the community notice board, which proposed it would be less prone to vandalism if part of the rent office window in Tron court could be utilised for this purpose, the community councillors agreed that this would be ideal for the notice board.
Councillor Matchett will deal with this matter
